Beyond a Single Icinga: Secure Wallboards and Cross-Instance Integration
Operating multiple Icinga environments is common in distributed infrastructures. However, securely visualizing monitoring data across trust boundaries, especially for wall displays and cross-instance dashboards, remains challenging. This talk presents three complementary modules that address these real-world problems:
API Login: An easy mechanism to generate controlled, user-bound login URLs for unattended wall displays, eliminating shared credentials while maintaining permission integrity.
IcingaBridge: An integration layer that connects remote IcingaDB environments via the IcingaWeb2 IcingaDB API, embedding live status data directly into local dashboards while optionally importing remote checks into the local instance using Icinga Director.
CPL (Check Package Library): A PHP library that enables structured rendering and reusable packaging of checks, similar in concept to the Icinga PowerShell Framework.
