Icinga2 Satellite as a Container
I would introduce our container-based satellite solution which we engineered in house to be able to deploy Icinga2 Satellites on remote locations. The solution is based on a self-made VMware Virtual Appliance for the container hosting, a GIT based configuration store, and an ansible powered build pipeline. We also provide a hosting for the Icinga for Windows repositories on the same Appliance which are used in combination with Baramundi to deploy the Agent on Windows Servers. In the talk I will explain why we choose the solution, show how we built the containers (repository, satellite), how we built the Virtual Appliance and how the configuration management, daily operations and patching is working.
