Using NetBox DNS
NetBox combines IP address management (IPAM) and datacenter infrastructure management (DCIM) with powerful APIs and extensions to provide an ideal “source of truth” to power network automation. One of these extensions is NetBox DNS which enables NetBox to manage operational DNS data such as DNS name servers, zones, records, and even views, as well as DNSSEC key and signing policies. In this talk we present some of the capabilities of NetBox DNS, how zones and records are managed and their integration with NetBox IPAM. In addition to demonstrating how to leverage NetBox’ API in order to add data to NetBox DNS, we will discuss some of the mechanisms you can use to extract data from NetBox DNS in order to actually serve DNS zones on name servers. You need not know NetBox to hear this talk, but beware, the topic might be addictive!
