Icinga has always been a prominent project featured at OSMC. With the evergrowing demand for automation in the industry, Icinga – and its different products – have also been subject to configuration management efforts.
Starting at the end of 2020 the Ansible collection Icinga saw the light of day. Since the collection has grown over time, we want to introduce you to the collection and teach you how you can easily automate your Icinga environment.
The workshop will be mix of explanatory slides and hands-on exercises

- Introduction to Icinga and its components
- Scope of the collection
- Hands-on exercises to build the Icinga stack
- Icinga 2
- Icinga DB
- Icinga Web (+ modules)
Who should attend:
If you are interested to learn about Ansible and/or Icinga and how to get rid off manual work, this workshop is a perfect start. Even if you already use the collection, you can still join and maybe learn a bit or provide us with valuable feedback and use cases.
Requirements for workshop participation:
- Interest in Icinga
- Basic understanding of configuration management conceptually
- Understanding of YAML
- Ideally a little experience with Ansible
- No fear of the Linux terminal
